In Search of Gran Blanco

Earlier this year, I had the chance to visit Northern Peru and meet a small collective of farmers in the community of La Quemazon, who sustainably farm a rare, white cocoa bean called Gran Blanco. Our Fall Collection was inspired by this unique cocoa bean, and the remarkable flavours that I encountered along my journey to find it.

Fall 2016 Chocolate Collection
La Quemazon / Chicha Morado / Dulce de Leche / Pisco Chilcano / Horchata / Inca Berry
The small-scale farmers of the community of La Quemazon worked hard to conserve the traditional, native plants of an old variety of cacao called 'criollo porcelana', also known as Gran Blanco, amidst modernization policies in the Peruvian cocoa sector. Thanks to their efforts, we are able to feature this remarkable chocolate in our new collection.
